AC Milan want deal for 25-year-old Arsenal fan favourite

According to reports, AC Milan has joined the competition to capture Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The Italian giants might give the English shot-stopper a fresh start after losing his starting spot at Arsenal.
Aaron Ramsdale’s fortunes at Arsenal have changed considerably.

After a great 2022-23 season with 14 Premier League clean sheets and a long-term contract extension, his playing time has almost completely evaporated this season. Under Mikel Arteta, he has made only ten appearances in all competitions.

Euro 2024 spot in jeopardy

With David Raya poised to sign a permanent contract extension at Arsenal this summer, Ramsdale appears to have no way back, and his lack of playing time has already jeopardised his spot in England’s Euro 2024 squad. You believe he’s dissatisfied with how things are going and will be eager to depart when the window opens.

Latest Arsenal injury updates and news.
All of this has apparently piqued the interest of AC Milan, who are considering capitalising on the situation while also reviving the 25-year-old’s career.

A move to AC Milan might provide Ramsdale with the consistent playing time he needs to reclaim the England number one shirt, while the chance to compete for silverware with a historic club like AC Milan may be enticing to the young goalkeeper.

They are not the only team rumored to be interested in the Englishman, though. Chelsea and Newcastle have also been mentioned frequently as potential suitors for him.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will cut company with Ramsdale, although it appears quite unlikely that he will continue on the bench. Recent reports linking them with goalkeepers such as Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson indicate they are already looking for a new number two.

Arsenal has a strong negotiation position because his contract runs until 2026, but everyone in football knows Ramsdale will be seeking for a new team.
