Mehrdad Ghodoussi wishes to celebrate Amanda Staveley’s birthday with a Newcastle United win.
Mehrdad Ghodoussi sent a sweet birthday card to his Newcastle United co-owner and wife, Amanda Staveley.
Since the club’s acquisition in 2021, the pair have led United. Staveley was instrumental in negotiating the £300 million transaction, which rewarded the businesswomen with a 10% interest in the club. Earlier this year, it was reported that this had been reduced to 6%.
“Happy birthday to this lovely lady who is continually pushing the envelope and working relentlessly. Ghodoussi wrote, “We love you.
“PS nothing puts a smile on her face more than a home win.”
Eddie Howe’s side will face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday (12:30pm kick-off), hoping to build on their 1-0 victory over Fulham last weekend.
A win could propel the Toon to sixth in the Premier League.
Spurs defeated United 4-1 in December, but it’s difficult to forget the Magpies’ spectacular 6-1 victory over the North London club in the same fixture last season, when they went 5-0 up in 20 minutes.
The co-owners are constantly open about their support for United. After Fulham’s victory, Staveley commented on Instagram: “An wonderful game! Thank you to everyone who came out to support us at Craven Cottage today. “So proud of our team, as always 🖤🤍 #howaythelads.” Meanwhile, Ghodoussi posted a video of the sold-out away end with the remark “the best”.
