Breaking News: Amanda Staveley steps down from Newcastle and she will now sell her shares

Amanda Staveley has given her thoughts on Newcastle United’s 1-0 victory over Fulham.

Amanda Staveley was left feeling proud after Newcastle United defeated Fulham 1-0 to keep their European qualification hopes alive.

Eddie Howe’s side waited until the 81st minute to secure a crucial three points at Craven Cottage, with Bruno Guimaraes scoring in his 100th club game.

It kept Newcastle ninth in the Premier League rankings, one point and one position below West Ham United, who rallied from 1-0 down to win 2-1 at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Co-owners Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi were watching the day unfold from the Cottage and took to Instagram to praise the travelling Newcastle fans.

Staveley remarked, “A fantastic game! Thank you to everyone who came out to support us at Craven Cottage today.

“So proud of our team, as always 🖤🤍 #howaythelads.” Meanwhile, Ghodoussi merely shared a video of the sold-out away end with the remark “the best”.

It was Newcastle’s fourth road win in the Premier League this season, and their first clean sheet away from home since an 8-0 victory over Sheffield United in September.

“It feels like a big three points after the week we’ve had,” said Howe, whose team earned four points from back-to-back home games against West Ham United and Everton.

“We have a small team right now, and we’re incredibly stretched, but everyone’s fighting for the cause. This was a pretty challenging game today. Fulham started strongly, whereas we did not; it required a tremendous effort from the players to win in the end.”
