New York Giants predicted to trade for Bills superstar QB Josh Allen

The New York Giants are concerned about starting quarterback Daniel Jones’ future after he missed the most of the 2023 season due to a damaged ACL. Since then, New York has conducted extensive scouting of the top quarterbacks in the upcoming draft class, as well as meetings with veteran signal-callers in free agency.

Elsewhere in the Empire State, turmoil has been developing. Following the trade of All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs, the Buffalo Bills appear to be in rebuilding mode. Could great quarterback Josh Allen be the next star to leave Buffalo?

This week on WFAN’s Evan & Tiki, co-host Evan Roberts suggested that the Giants trade for Allen as the Bills rebuild.

Such a transaction would be a pipe dream come true for Giants fans, but an implausible nightmare for the Bills Mafia, who probably don’t need to worry too much.

WFAN radio host suggests blockbuster trade that sends Josh Allen to the Giants

While reacting to the Bills’ sale of Diggs, Roberts quickly suggested the blockbuster move that Giants general manager Joe Schoen should make in reaction.

“Schoen’s gotta pick up the phone and ask about Josh Allen,” Roberts said WFAN. “Why not?”

Roberts went on to describe how and why he believes such a transfer may occur:

“Josh has no toys anymore. “Josh is not happy,” Roberts stated. “Josh does not want to live in Buffalo longer. Josh has a girlfriend who would rather shop on Fifth Avenue in New York City than waste time in Buffalo.

“Call your pal, Joe [Schoen, New York Giants general manager], and say, ‘What up’ to Josh Allen. Is he available? If you sink this ship, we have the sixth pick in the draft. We have Daniel Jones. We have other assets. “We’ll help you rebuild, and we’ll help Josh Allen.”

Could the Giants really pull off a trade for Allen?

Josh Allen: Stats, Injury News & Fantasy Projections

Roberts proposes that the Giants trade the No. 6 overall choice in this year’s draft for Allen in what would be a historic transaction. However, he fails to recognize that the No. 6 choice is only the starting point in a negotiation for a player like Allen.

Allen is a perennial MVP candidate who is currently in the prime of his career. The Bills clearly regard him as an untouchable member of their roster. They recently signed him to a six-year contract worth $258 million. Allen has led Buffalo to the playoffs in each of the previous five seasons.

The Bills are unlikely to consider dealing him this summer, and even if they did, the No. 6 choice in the draft would be insufficient to complete the transaction.

Trading for Allen would be a dream come true for Giants fans

But for Giants fans, dealing for Allen would be the perfect way to reenergize the fanbase and return the team to postseason contention. Allen would reconnect with Giants head coach Brian Daboll, who served as his offensive coordinator in Buffalo from 2018 to 2021. Daboll is frequently credited for helping Allen develop into one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks.

Allen has two Pro Bowl appearances in the last three seasons, has passed for at least 4,300 yards in each of the last four seasons, has been a finalist for MVP three times in the last four years, and was chosen a second-team All-Pro in 2020.

In 2023, he led the Bills to an 11-6 record and the AFC East championship after passing for 4,306 yards and 29 touchdowns with 18 interceptions, as well as 524 yards and 15 touchdowns rushing.

The Giants would be thrilled to deal for Allen and become perennial playoff and Super Bowl challengers. However, dreams are just that, and reality is cruel. The Buffalo Bills will not consider moving Josh Allen to the New York Giants in 2024, no matter what.
