Major update about Newcastle United’s summer transfer plans revealed

According to sources, Newcastle United may need to sell a “big star” to fund their summer transfer activity, as previously stated by Darren Eales.

The drop-off from last season’s Champions League triumphs has sparked speculation about possible departures. Bruno Guimaraes, in particular, has been linked with a £100 million transfer, despite signing a new contract six months ago.

NewcastleWorld understands that number would trigger his release clause, with Liverpool, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly keen. Arsenal is also said to be interested in Newcastle’s other key draw, Alexander Isak.
When questioned by reporters in January, CEO Darren Eales intimated that Newcastle may need to move a marquee player. FFP/PSR limitations hampered Toon bosses throughout the winter window, with no new signings despite a debilitating injury list.

According to Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, there is still a “possibility” that a high-profile star could leave. A lot hinges on where the Magpies finish this season, with European qualification providing more flexibility on the balance sheet.

“It’s also a possibility for Newcastle to sell one big star this summer too,” Romano told the BBC. “there will rely on the final ruling on Financial Fair Play, but there is a possibility, according to what I’ve been told.

“Newcastle would want to maintain all of their stars, but some of them, such as Bruno Guimaraes, have release clauses, so it will be time to follow those in the summer. I’m sure they’d like to add some players to their team in various places, so it’s not just about the outgoings.”
