Breaking: Bills are Trading Four-Time Pro Bowl WR to the Texans

The Bills will trade Stefon Diggs to the Texans.

The Miami Dolphins have not won the AFC East since 2008. For the past few years, the Buffalo Bills have dominated the division, succeeding New England’s domination in the 2000s and 2010. However, things may change next season.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Buffalo Bills are finalizing a trade that will send four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans in exchange for draft picks.

The Buffalo Bills will acquire Houston’s 2025 second-round pick (via the Minnesota Vikings), while the Texans will receive Stefon Diggs, a 2024 sixth-round pick, and a 2025 fifth-round pick.

Last season, Diggs had 107 catches for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns and was an important element of Buffalo’s attack. When Diggs joined the team in 2020, the franchise’s numbers skyrocketed, as did those of quarterback Josh Allen. Without him, it’s questionable whether the Bills will remain the same.

The trade also results in a $30 million dead cap penalty for Buffalo, making the decision even more perplexing. Could this be the calm before the storm?
