NC State big man jabs Duke star after latest March Madness upset

NC State moved to the Final Four on Sunday after defeating No. 4-seeded Duke, and Wolfpack big man DJ Burns poked fun at Blue Devils star Jared McCain on social media following the game.

Burns shared a video on Instagram Story of teammate DJ Horne making a three-pointer after convincing McCain to bite on a pump fake.

He then inserted McCain dancing into the video.

McCain is well-known for posting dancing videos of himself on TikTok, and he has long been mocked online for his dancing and painted fingernails.

Ironically, while Burns may be making fun of McCain because it’s simple, McCain was the reason Duke had a chance in this game.

The 6-foot-3 guard recorded 32 points and six rebounds. Those 32 points represented half of Duke’s total points. No other Blue Devil player ended with more than thirteen.

NC State shut down Duke star Kyle Filipowski, who finished with just 11 points on 3-for-12 shooting.
Burns led his team to win with 29 points on 13-for-19 shooting, four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, while McCain led all scorers with 32 points.

Nikola Jokic, a two-time NBA MVP, was impressed with his performance.

Following his own strong performance on Sunday, in which the Nuggets center finished with 26 points, 18 rebounds, and 16 assists, Jokic praised the Wolfpack center.

“He’s amazing,” Jokic stated. “I think he’s quite skilled, especially as a lefty. I enjoy going lefty. It seemed like his teammates enjoyed playing with him. I’ve got to be a good guy.

NC State’s incredible run will continue Saturday, when they meet Zach Edey and the No. 1-seeded Purdue Boilermakers in the first Final Four game in Phoenix.

Edey led Purdue to its first Final Four berth since 1980, scoring a career-high 40 points against Tennessee on Sunday, surpassing Tennessee’s Dalton Knecht, who ended with 37.

The Wolfpack have won nine consecutive games after finishing the regular season with a four-game losing streak at 17-14.

They dominated the ACC Tournament to earn a spot in March Madness, defeating Duke and North Carolina before defeating Texas Tech, Oakland, and Marquette in the first three rounds of the NCAA.
