Eddie Howe confirms triple injury blow to Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has issued updates on three of his injured talents.

Eddie Howe, Newcastle United’s manager, will review his players over the Easter weekend after suffering three injuries in one afternoon against West Ham.

Newcastle came back from 3-1 down to win 4-3, but the club is now plagued by new troubles, including Anthony Gordon’s suspension for Tuesday’s match against Everton. However, Emil Krafth’s retreat was a tactical decision by Howe.

Newcastle manager Howe remarked after the game, “It’s been the story of our season.” Unfortunately, we were being hit left, right, and center today. We were 1-0 up when Jamaal went off. Miggy goes off, Anthony gets sent off, and Tino (Livramento) goes off.

“It is a catalogue, one after another, but the players we brought on made a positive impact, and that’s the beauty of our squad.”

When asked about the injuries, Howe began by providing an update on Jamaal Lascelles, who walked off after only 16 minutes due to a knee injury. Tino Livramento had an ankle injury, while Miguel Almiron was only on the field for 12 minutes before leaving with a knee problem.

Howe pondered, “Jamaal has a knee condition, but I don’t know much more than that. I suspect the ball impacted Tino’s ankle, causing an ankle twist, and Miggy injured his knee while crossing a ball.”

Howe also conceded that the upheaval that brought Lascelles on board disturbed his team. He stated: “You must make a split-second judgment on what you believe is best. Perhaps there were too many players shifting positions, forcing us to adjust, and by the time it happened, we were down 2-1. But we had to adjust it again in the second half, and the changes worked out well for us.

Howe verified Krafth’s tactical withdrawal, saying, “No, there was no injury. “I wanted to get as many attacking players on the pitch as possible.”
