Breaking: Milan now leading race to sign excellent 26-year-old for €30m

Given how excellent Albert Gudmundsson has been for Genoa this season, it comes as no surprise that big Italian teams are interested in him, with AC Milan apparently among his fans.

Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) reports on Juventus’ plans for the forthcoming summer transfer window, as well as an update on Gudmundsson, who Genoa signed from PSV Eindhoven in 2021.

He was the driving force behind their return to Serie A last season, scoring 11 goals, and he is on fire this season, with 12 goals and four assists in 29 games across all competitions.

Juve wants him and believes he would be a wonderful addition to their attacking department, but two other Italian teams, Milan and Inter, are also interested in him.

Gudmundsson: "Non mi sono mai pentito del Genoa" - Calcio Genoa

According to the Turin-based newspaper, the Rossoneri are the most aggressive in their pursuit of signing the Iceland international, while Genoa would demand €30 million for their gem if they were to sell before next summer.

As a reminder, Gudmundsson’s great-grandfather played for Milan a few decades ago, so there is already a connection with the red and black, though whether that will influence his selection remains to be seen.
