Premier League make official Newcastle United decision

The Premier League has announced when Newcastle United will face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Newcastle United will face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday, April 24 (8pm kick-off), after their first

Premier League encounter, originally for Saturday, March 16, was postponed owing to Newcastle’s participation in

the FA Cup quarter-finals. The rescheduled game means Magpies fans will have to go to the capital in the middle of the week without any public transportation to return to the north east after the game.

Newcastle trounced Palace 4-0 at St James’ Park in the reverse fixture, but Oliver Glasner will face Palace for the first time since taking over as Roy Hodgson’s manager last month. In Glasner’s four Premier League matches as manager, Palace has won one, drawn two, and lost one.

Despite this statement, Newcastle United do not know when they will face Manchester United at Old Trafford. The Red Devils’ FA Cup victory over Liverpool last weekend means they will face Coventry City at Wembley on April 21, the same weekend they were scheduled to meet Eddie Howe’s side.

Details on when that game will be rescheduled will be released later, but it is expected to take place in midweek, similar to the match versus Palace. If no other dates are available, it could possibly take place as far away as the season’s last midweek round.

The Premier League has also confirmed that Newcastle United’s game against Sheffield United at St James’ Park will go place on Saturday, April 27 at 3 p.m.
