Newcastle United’s owners, PIF, are apparently utilizing their contacts to help finalize the signing of a “incredible” player during the summer transfer window.
Newcastle transfer news
The Magpies have been linked with a number of new recruits in recent weeks, as Eddie Howe seeks to avoid a recurrence of last season’s dismal performance at St James’ Park.
One such player who has surfaced as a summer target for Newcastle is RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who is regarded as a potential replacement for Callum Wilson, who may leave after this season ends.
At the opposite end of the pitch, Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer is apparently being seen as a strong contender to replace Sven Botman, who is now facing months on the sidelines after suffering a severe ACL injury and may not even play for the remainder of the year.
Another Juve player, Adrien Rabiot, is being considered by the Magpies, with the Frenchman out of contract with the Serie A giants in the summer. Newcastle hopes to keep Bruno Guimaraes, but if he does leave, the Frenchman may be an ideal substitute.
PIF eyeing Newcastle move for “incredible” ace
According to a new report from Football Transfers, Newcastle are interested in signing Feyenoord left-back
Quilindschy Hartman this summer, with PIF looking to exert their influence.
According to the report, left-back is a “key area that Eddie Howe wishes to strengthen,” and the fact that the Magpies have youngster Yankuba Minteh on loan at Feyenoord means that they have a “good relationship” with the Dutch side, which is viewed as potentially “significant” if they pursue a deal.
Not only that, but the update goes on to say that Hartman’s qualities are “said to be perfect for Premier League football,” with the defender “extremely quick, a tenacious tackler, and possesses unbelievable stamina and energy that allow him to cover the left flank for the entire 90 minutes.”
All of this leads to the 22-year-old being a superb summer signing for Newcastle, given his many skills and the fact that he is still a young player. Scout Antonio Mango has previously described him as “incredible,” and he might be considered an upgrade over Dan Burn as well as a more natural left-back.
This season, Hartman has five assists in 25 Eredivisie games for Feyenoord, while also winning an average of 1.8 tackles per game, demonstrating his ability to be both an attacking danger and a competent defender. He has also earned four caps for the Netherlands, scoring one.
At 22, the Dutchman still has a lot to offer, and if Newcastle can sign him while leveraging the PIF’s power, it might be a fantastic long-term investment.
