The summer transfer window is soon coming, and discussions are starting to take place about where AC Milan would aim to strengthen and who they might choose to fill those positions. Carlo Pellegatti has analysed one alternative that the Rossoneri may consider.
Milan’s summer recruiting will center on a new striker and central defender. However, as was the case in the January mercato, the Rossoneri will weigh their alternatives and possibly act on fascinating possibilities that arise.
While a new midfielder is not a major priority, if the opportunity to boost their midfield arises, the Diavolo may take it, with Udinese’s Walace being one of the midfielders they are rumored to be interested in.
Pellegatti discussed the possibility of Milan signing Walace on his YouTube channel, and MilanNews reported on his comments.
“They tell me that AC Milan may consider signing a player with very fascinating statistics that I have examined. I’m referring to a 1.88-metre-tall, 75kg player who joined Udinese in 2019 and is well-known in the Italian division. The cost is reasonable, at 7, 10, and 12 million euros; he was born on April 4, 1995, and will be 29 years old in a fortnight. His name is Walace.
“He can play in a midfield two or three, alongside Reijnders and Bennacer. Statistics: 82% successful passes, 84.6% successful dribbling, and 126 wins from 215 duels. He would be excellent for providing that physicality.
“In his second season, he was second in duels won, and this year he scored two goals; he’s not one for offensive contributions, but he’d be excellent for physical play. I hope it is an idea and a road Milan can pursue.”
If the Rossoneri are seeking for midfield reinforcements, he may be a very wise addition considering his versatility and differences from the rest of the club’s midfield.
