Top Milan target says he wants to join Rafael Leao at San Siro

AC Milan’s pursuit of a new forward in the upcoming summer transfer window has been widely discussed, and one of the preferred candidates has openly expressed admiration for Rossoneri star Rafael Leao in a recent interview.

The focus seems to be on Milan securing a new striker in the next transfer opportunity, although the financial aspect remains uncertain pending any significant player departures. Should a high-value player be sold, it could potentially open up various market options, with Viktor Gyokeres being one potential candidate.

Gyokeres, who attracted interest from several European clubs last summer following an impressive season in the English Championship, has continued to develop rapidly, making another move this summer plausible.

Reports of Milan’s interest in Gyokeres emerged in November and have since intensified. However, Arsenal also holds a keen interest in the 25-year-old forward.

After Portugal’s match against Sweden, where both Leao and Gyokeres found the net and exchanged shirts, Gyokeres spoke highly of the winger in his post-match interview with Record.pt, as relayed by MilanNews.

When asked about Rafael Leao, Gyokeres said, “He’s an exceptional player, and I admire his talent. We had a brief chat, but nothing too elaborate. He simply complimented my performance, and I reciprocated the sentiment regarding his.”
