Breaking: Miami Dolphins to complete deal for three-time Pro Bowler

Following a meeting on Thursday afternoon, the Miami Dolphins are reportedly close to signing three-time Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr.

While the Dolphins had several obvious difficulties toward the end of the season, one area of strength was their passing attack. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa led the NFL in passing yards (4,624), and while he was excellent in 2023, he was helped by a pair of world-class receivers to throw the ball to.

Last season, Miami had two receivers with more over 1,000 yards. Despite missing three games, Jaylen Waddle finished with 1,014 yards and four touchdowns, while Tyreek Hill, the team’s wide receiver, led the league in yards (1,799) and touchdowns (13).

One would imagine that the team is relatively set at wide receiver, but the franchise is close to acquiring a Super Bowl champion with three Pro Bowl appearances on his CV. On Wednesday, Miami Herald NFL reporter Barry Jackson said the team was interested in chatting with former New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr.

Miami Dolphins meeting with Odell Beckham Jr. could lead to agreement soon

In a follow-up the next day, Jackson stated that the team had a successful meeting with the pass catcher on Thursday and that they had every intention of signing him; the only holdup was determining the correct price for the 10-year veteran.

Beckham Jr. was on a one-year, $15 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens. It was his first season back in the league since missing all of 2022 due to a torn ACL.
