Serbian forward Luka Jovic is edging closer to securing a contract extension with AC Milan following a satisfactory goal-scoring performance in his debut season at the club.
According to reports from Pianeta Milan, it appears increasingly likely that Jovic will remain with Milan for the 2024/25 season.
Jovic was acquired on a free transfer during the final moments of the 2023 summer transfer window, tasked with proving his worth through goal-scoring prowess to earn a prolonged stay at the club beyond his initial one-year contract.
His tenure at Milan has been a mix of highs and lows, yet it seems he has done enough to warrant an extension. With eight goals in 24 appearances, his contribution as a backup striker has been commendable.
However, a notable concern arises from his contrasting performance when starting matches, wherein he has often struggled. This discrepancy poses a challenge for Milan, particularly when Olivier Giroud, the primary striker, is absent from the starting lineup.Despite this inconsistency, Milan are anticipated to exercise the contractual option to retain Jovic for another year, a privilege they can utilize for up to three consecutive seasons.
