During the January transfer window, AC Milan was connected with a bid for Trevoh Chalobah of Chelsea.
The defender wasn’t playing much under Mauricio Pochettino due to injuries at the time, but that has changed recently, with the 24-year-old starting the Blues’ last two league games.
It’s unclear whether this will continue, but Milan is still interested in the Chelsea centre-back, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Serie A club will need to sign a new defender in the summer, and the former England U21 international could be a top target.
The club is believed to be attempting to ‘define their initial targets’, before recalling that prior transactions involving Chelsea players had worked well for Milan in the past.
Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Christian Pulisic are good instances of this (they appear to have purposely forgotten about Tiemoue Bakayoko), but they also mention that Pochettino now appears to be a fan of Chalobah.
Still, his current value is estimated to be between €10 and 15 million, making him inexpensive for Milan, though this appears to be a low estimate given that he is currently in use and Chelsea would want to make as much money as possible from sales this summer.
