The forthcoming summer transfer season could open the way for a major three-way transaction between Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and AC Milan.
Real Madrid’s interest in Alphonso Davies is well established, and with the possibility that the Canadian may leave Bayern Munich, the Bavarians are looking for a successor, with sources indicating that Theo Hernandez is one.
As a result, the Serie A club is now forced to hunt for suitable replacements if these two transactions go through.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid’s Ferland Mendy is a target for the Italians.
Real Madrid in dispute over his continuity
It is no secret that Mendy continues to divide opinion at Real Madrid. As previously reported, the coaching staff trusts the 28-year-old, but team management does not hold him in high regard.
It should be remembered that Mendy has a contract with Real Madrid until 2025. Madrid had already approached the player with a new contract, but the terms did not appeal to the Frenchman.
And now, the 28-year-old’s future is unknown, as Madrid has stepped up their pursuit of Davies, despite the fact that Bayern Munich will not give up lightly.
Mendy has suitors
Milan is currently waiting for Bayern to make a bid, and if this happens, Mendy’s name will surface on the top pages of Italian newspapers.
For what it’s worth, this three-way deal could include a fourth player, since the aforementioned publication reports that Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain is aggressively looking for a left-back, with Milan’s Hernandez being the lead.
As it turns out, Mendy’s name is also on the agenda, which adds complexity to the conversation. In addition, a couple Premier League sides have already requested his availability.
