Sunderland have been advised to consider hiring a Championship manager during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Mike Dodds, who took over as Sunderland’s interim coach last month, has faced four consecutive defeats thus far. It’s anticipated that the 37-year-old will continue in his role until summer, when Kristjaan Speakman will appoint a new permanent manager.
The club’s primary target seems to be Will Still, who was previously considered before Michael Beale. Still is believed to be among the candidates for Sunderland’s managerial position as they prepare for what seems like a significant summer restructuring.
Reims coach, Still, has expressed interest in joining a Championship club, and many fans are keen to see him return to Wearside after his earlier consideration.
Although numerous managers from across Europe have been linked with the position at the Stadium of Light, Speakman has been advised to consider local options.
Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder, Carlton Palmer, speaking to Football League World, stated, “Sunderland and Watford are currently in search of a manager, and I believe both will stick with their caretakers until summer, giving them time to assess available options.”
“One man who’s making a lot of headlines is Sheffield Wednesday’s young manager, Danny Rohl.”They were totally dead and buried, but he has brought them within touching distance of probable Championship survival, with four wins in the last six games.
“There’ll be a lot of interest in Danny, and the club should be worried and look to tie him down on a longer contract.”

For Sunderland fans who haven’t paid much attention to Sheffield Wednesday’s season but see them 23rd in the league table, the situation isn’t as bad as it appears.
Danny Rohl joined Hillsborough after gaining great experience at Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Southampton, and the Germany national team, where he worked under Hansi Flick and Ralph Hassenhuttl.
The ‘very impressive’ 34-year-old joined Sheffield Wednesday when the team was seven points from safety, winless in their first eleven games, and in a bit of a shambles.
Rohl has now brought the Owls within a point of safety, has a lower win % than only Darren Moore and Gary Megson over the last 36 years, and has been regarded as one of the best managers Barry Bannan and Josh Windass have ever worked with.
Rohl is beloved by the entire squad and has entirely improved the club’s mindset, and fans will be devastated if he quits, even if they are demoted.
It appears that he is the young, dynamic manager from overseas that the world perceives Will Still to be; he only lacks the media presence that the Reims manager has earned during his time in France.
Rohl will undoubtedly attract a lot of attention in the summer and might be a target for a number of Bundesliga clubs, making it difficult for Sunderland to pursue him.
