Manager makes ‘tough’ admission on nightmare scenario before Luton v Nottingham Forest

After losing a three-goal lead against Bournemouth on Wednesday night, Luton Town manager Rob Edwards feels his players must rapidly regroup before facing Nottingham Forest.

On Saturday, Forest will play Luton at Kenilworth Road in the Premier League, in a crucial encounter for the club’s survival. The Reds are barely three points ahead of the Hatters in 17th position.

Hatters appoint former Watford and Forest Green boss Edwards as new Luton manager

“We put ourselves in such a good position to win a Premier League game of football and to be sat here talking about a defeat is tough,” Edwards added.

“Big game on Saturday. Losing is difficult in any case, but it hurts more in this context, but if we can’t pick ourselves up for a big Premier League game, something is wrong.”

Hwang Ui-jo’s sister-in-law gets three-year sentence for sex tape leaking

South Korea suspend striker Hwang Ui-jo over sex tape allegation amid police investigation - Mirror Online

On Thursday, a court sentenced football star Hwang Ui-jo’s sister-in-law to three years in prison for releasing his sex films and blackmailing him.

The Seoul Central District Court accepted the defendant’s “severe” offense of blackmailing the footballer with the knowledge that the private films would be disseminated and go viral.

The court also sentenced the defendant to complete 40 hours of sexual abuse treatment and barred her from working for institutions relating to children and disabilities for up to three years.

“The court cannot see that the defendant is seriously reflecting on her crimes as she has denied them for a long time and disrupted the investigation by doing things like resetting her phone,” the judge stated.

The lighter-than-expected penalty was based on her late confession and clean criminal background, according to the statement. At a hearing last month, prosecutors demanded a four-year sentence for the sister-in-law.

Following the ruling, the attorney for the female victim seen in the video challenged the court’s mild sentence.

“The victim will live the rest of her life worrying about whether she will be known for being involved in the video,” the attorney told local reporters.

According to the court, Hwang, a striker for the Turkish football team Alanyaspor, requested that the penalty against his sister-in-law be waived, whereas the female victim requested that she be severely punished.

In December of last year, the sister-in-law was seized and indicted on allegations of blackmailing and leaking Hwang’s sexual videos.

She was accused of uploading images and videos of Hwang with other women on Instagram in June of last year, pretending to be his ex-girlfriend. She is also accused of threatening Hwang with text messages such as “it will be fun if the video gets leaked.”

After months of denial, the sister-in-law admitted to the court in a handwritten confession on Feb. 20 that she disclosed Hwang’s personal footage in order to exact retribution, citing the need to “teach him a lesson.”

She said that she discovered a video of Hwang and an unknown woman having a sexual experience on the player’s phone, to which she has access because she assists Hwang with his personal life.

“The only intention was to teach Hwang a lesson,” she went on to say. “I altered the video so the woman’s face would not be seen. I never intended to damage Hwang’s career or harm the woman.”

Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency transferred the 32-year-old footballer, who is accused of illegally taping his sexual encounters and causing secondary harm, to the prosecution without custody early last month.

According to the authorities, Hwang admitted to filming the video but claimed it was with his partner’s permission.
