Eddie Howe’s relationship with Amanda Staveley at Newcastle now exposed

Newcastle United’s form has recently deteriorated, and Eddie Howe has come under increasing criticism following last year’s triumph.

Questions have been raised about whether Newcastle should move on and hire a big-name manager to bring them success, but their owners have shown a lot of patience thus far.

According to The Athletic, Howe continues to have a very positive connection with co-owner Amanda Staveley, who recently praised him as ‘amazing’.

Howe still has the backing of Newcastle’s owners

In recent days, it has emerged that Newcastle are not planning to replace Howe ahead of the summer, even if they miss out on Europe, as they are currently doing.

Both their form and performances have been uneven recently, but that’s to be anticipated given the number of players coming in and out of the club due to injuries and suspensions, making it tough for Howe’s men to find a rhythm.

The Chelsea defeat on Monday was extremely disappointing, especially given that many believed they had turned a corner in their win against Wolves, and losing Anthony Gordon to a knee injury was another major setback.

But Staveley understands all of the circumstances that have influenced the performance on the field this season and is prepared to give Howe more time to get things right in the coming season.

Howe may have the board’s full support right now, but football moves rapidly, and Newcastle will not want to be stuck in mid-table in the Premier League for very long.

Their aspirations are to win titles and fight for trophies every season, so while there are valid reasons why Newcastle has underperformed compared to last season, a change will be required eventually.

The 46-year-old head coach will be hoping for money to spend in the summer to improve the squad’s depth, which has been exposed this season with a number of first-team alternatives out.

With a few upgrades in specific areas and the return of his injured and suspended players, he will have no reason not to succeed with this bunch.
