The Miami Heat have already added guards Terry Rozier (trade) and Patty Mills (buyout) this season as the defending Eastern Conference champs attempt to repeat.
These aren’t the moves that front office manager Pat Riley had hoped for. Remember, Miami was favored to get Damian Lillard in a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers before he joined the Milwaukee Bucks.
With Miami at 35-29 and the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference heading into Wednesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, could the organization consider making another move?
John Wall interested in joining the Miami Heat
The five-time All-Star recently appeared on an episode of The OGs, alongside former Miami Heat players Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller. He was asked about the prospect of joining Miami to finish the season.
“One thousand percent.” I talk about it all the time. Do you understand what I mean? “I just feel like I can really help them,” Wall remarked.
Wall, 32, last played with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2022-23. In 34 games, the former No. 1 overall choice averaged 11.4 points and 5.2 assists while shooting 41%.
Wall was once one of the best point guards in the NBA, but injuries have derailed his career. He has only played 96 games for the Washington Wizards since the end of the 2017-18 season.
It’s unclear whether Miami will show interest in Wall. As previously stated, they added two guards to the lineup earlier in the season. It appears to be a long shot at this time.
