AC Milan could beat Champions League club and sign talented 19-year-old defender

AC Milan is ready to compete with Spanish club Atletico Madrid for Valencia centre-back Christhian Mosquera, who has been one of La Liga’s breakout stars this season, according to reports.

According to the Spanish daily COPE, the 19-year-old defender is attracting serious interest from all around Europe and might become Valencia’s next major export.

Milan attempted to sign Mosquera last summer but was unsuccessful, and he will undoubtedly command a higher price now that he has had a strong season. They have been linked to him for many years.

Mosquera’s name came up as Milan was finalizing the deal for Yunus Musah from the Spanish side. His contract was automatically extended to 2026 this season due to the number of games he played, which triggered a provision. He has played 38 games this season and is Valencia’s bright spot.

Mosquera is thought to be extremely happy at Valencia right now and is unlikely to try to push a move elsewhere, but Valencia is not a wealthy club, and the opportunity to cash in on a talent like Mosquera may be too good to pass up.

The Spaniard is a product of Valencia’s academy and has spent his whole career there, so it will be an emotional farewell.
