Rams Key Player Now Set for Shock Departure

The Los Angeles Rams had one of the league’s greatest passing offenses this season, and the team has expressed interest in adding another wide receiver. If the team drafts one in the upcoming NFL Draft or signs one in free agency, which begins March 13, 24-year-old receiver Tutu Atwell may not have a stable spot.

The youthful and quick wideout concluded the season with 483 receiving yards and was a key player for the team in games when Cooper Kupp was still out due to injury. However, once the star receiver returned, Atwell’s position in the offense diminished considerably. With the re-signing of veteran Demarcus Robinson, Atwell’s window with the Rams may be narrowing. Robinson completed the season 112 receiving yards behind Atwell’s total. However, he started ten fewer games and was substantially less targeted.

To maximize Atwell’s worth, the Rams should look for a position where he can start straight away and make an impact. While Atwell caught a touchdown in the Rams’ first-round playoff loss to the Detroit Lions this season and has done well for the team, it may be time for the young receiver to find a new team where he can be a consistent starter and prove why he was drafted in the second round.
