It would be devastating if Stephen Curry had to miss time, but Draymond Green is optimistic that the Warriors can hold the fort thanks to this guy.
The Golden State Warriors can’t afford too many losses as they attempt to climb the Western Conference standings. The last thing they need is for Stephen Curry to sustain a potentially severe injury. However, Lady Luck did not smile on the Warriors on Thursday night. Not only did they lose to the Chicago Bulls, 125-122, owing in large part to a missed open layup from Brandin Podziemski, but Curry also left the game early after twisting his ankle.
It is unclear at this time how bad Curry’s ankle injury is. However, the Warriors star has a history of ankle ailments (hence the below-market contract he signed in 2012), which may increase the likelihood that this is not something he will simply brush off in a day or two.
Nonetheless, Warriors forward Draymond Green is optimistic that if Stephen Curry misses time due to an ankle ailment, the team has enough talent to weather the storm. Green, in particular, believes that the presence of seasoned floor general Chris Paul, who might take over as the team’s primary point guard, secures the Dubs in that regard.
“We know he’s more than capable. He’s Chris Paul. It’s been amazing having C here, but then Steph went down – no one in the NBA is like Steph Curry. But knowing you’re going into the game with a man who can win you game after game, it definitely gives you confidence that you can win games,” Green told ESPN’s Kendra Andrews.
