Burnley winger Nathan Redmond has sent a three-word Instagram message to Everton midfielder Dele Alli, who is still recovering from an injury.
The 27-year-old has not played a single game for the Toffees since returning from a loan spell at Besiktas last summer, due to a series of injuries at Goodison Park.
Redmond, who previously played for Besiktas before joining Burnley on a free transfer in July 2023, has given a message of encouragement to Alli after the Everton player uploaded photographs and videos of his current recuperation.
On Wednesday (6 March), Redmond responded to the post on Instagram, writing “Slide 4… Elite.”
Will Dele Alli play for Everton before the end of the season?
While Alli’s stint at Goodison Park has been exceedingly dismal, as has his career since leaving Tottenham Hotspur, he may still return to Sean Dyche’s side before the conclusion of the season.
The midfielder has the potential to become a star, as he is currently at the pinnacle of his career, but only if he can maintain his fitness. Dyche can see that, which is why he wants Alli back in the group.
With a handful of their current midfielders linked with summer moves away from Goodison Park, Alli might provide an easy solution ahead of next season.
However, Alli remains a highly contentious player at the club, having been photographed with laughing gas canisters in April 2023, despite efforts by the UK government to make it illegal. [The Mirror].
But Alli has had to overcome a great deal of difficulty. During an interview with Sky Sports’ The Overlap, he said that he was sexually molested when he was six years old and became involved in drug peddling when he was eight.
It is apparent that the player is trying hard to get back to the sport he loves. However, some fans are relieved that Alli has not made an appearance this season, avoiding the triggering of a provision in his contract.
He is now on the verge of making his season-ending return, whether fans want to witness it or not. With Everton only five points above the relegation zone, even following a successful appeal against their 10-point deduction, Alli might play a key role this season.
