Nathan Jones says these two Charlton players were terribly incredible v Cheltenham

Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones has complimented Daniel Kanu and Tyreeq Bakinson after his side’s latest success.
Charlton Athletic triumphed 3-1 away at Cheltenham Town Friday night to bolster their League One survival hopes.

Both Kanu and Bakinson were on the scoresheet for the Addicks against the Robins, with striker Alfie May also finding the net against his previous side.

Jones stated after the game, as per the official club website: “Daniel Kanu was a threat all night, and he kept going. I’m thrilled for Tyreeq [Bakinson] because we left Tyreeq out over the weekend and he’s come back in and scored.”

Jones has made an excellent first impression at Charlton, and his team has been in good form since he took over from Michael Appleton.

The former Luton Town and Southampton manager has only lost once in his first seven games.

The Addicks have improved to 14th in the table, seven points ahead of the drop zone with nine games remaining.

Kanu, 19, has been a revelation since Jones took over at The Valley, and his new boss has showed great faith in him.

The highly regarded youth has a promising future in the game and is now enjoying plenty of game time in the third tier, which will help him grow.

Bakinson has had to be patient since joining Charlton in January from Sheffield Wednesday. He was brought in to provide additional competition and depth in their midfield section.

His goal against Cheltenham should give him the confidence to push on and have a successful finish to the season.

The Addicks return to play this weekend, hosting Carlisle as they try to maintain their momentum and move further away from the bottom four.
