AC Milan reveal important call for Stefano Pioli

Despite the fact that there are still plenty of games to play and points to contend for, as well as a Europa League trophy to win, the AC Milan management is looking ahead.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning, the team is naturally focused on preparing for the remaining few months of the season, particularly the Europa League round of 16, with the first leg against Slavia Praha taking place tomorrow at San Siro.

It is a competition in which the Rossoneri hope to advance all the way to the final in Dublin at the end of May and maybe raise the trophy high into the Irish night.

However, in the league, their best chance is to finish second. This summer, the leaders will have to fight to reduce the gap with Inter, which is presently 16 points, and part of that will be assigning blame following a dismal domestic campaign.

According to the source, the first important decision that those in power will make is on Stefano Pioli’s future, which will not be handled lightly considering that Milan has not changed coaches since October 2019.

Gerry Cardinale, Giorgio Furlani, Geoffrey Moncada, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all aware of an essential fact: the decision on who will be the head coach in 2023-24 will undoubtedly influence the market.

Once a definitive choice has been made on Pioli and maybe his replacement, they will know which signings to make to fit the manager’s tactical approach and structure. The main signing is, of course, the centre-forward.
