AC Milan wants to sign Mike Maignan to a long-term contract, but it will be difficult due to excessive demands from his entourage, according to reports.
After joining the Ligue 1 team as a substitute for Gianluigi Donnarumma in the summer of 2021, Maignan rapidly earned the nickname ‘Magic Mike’ for his spectacular interventions.
He played a significant role in the Scudetto win that season, and his assist record demonstrates that he has a talent for playmaking.
According to Calciomercato.com, Geoffrey Moncada and the other directors are negotiating a possible contract renewal with the Frenchman’s agency, which will include a wage increase reflecting his status as one of Europe’s finest goalkeepers.
Milan will aim to reach an agreement on a long-term contract with the former Lille player, but it will be difficult because the demands raised during the initial rounds of talks are significant.
Bayern Munich is also interested in signing Maignan, as they need a replacement for Manuel Neuer and are planning a summer move.
However, the source states that Milan’s management will not consider offers less than €80 million.
