Ideal Wilson replacement sends message to Newcastle star

One of Newcastle United’s summer targets has responded to Tino Livramento’s post, following his first goal for the club against Wolves.

Newcastle were back to their best on Saturday, capping off a fantastic victory with a well executed goal that kept all three points at St James’ Park.

Livramento rushed to Instagram to celebrate his goal following a superb driving run into Wolves’ box, and Joshua Zirkzee was eager to participate in the festivities with his good pal.

Newcastle target happy for Livramento

Newcastle were reportedly tracking the striker in January, but due to a lack of cash, the interest was never pursued.

There is always a chance of a summer move, with Newcastle looking to strengthen their offensive options since Callum Wilson is expected to leave the club, leaving Alexander Isak as the only natural striker.

Zirkzee has been impressive at Bologna, although he formerly played for Bayern Munich, who have the option to re-sign him for £34 million, which may explain why he has become close friends with Livramento.

The striker frequently played with Jamal Musiala at Bayern, who had built a friendship with Livramento during their time at Chelsea’s youth, so this could be the link between them, despite the fact that Livramento and Zirkzee had never played together.

Eddie Howe would not want to lose such a fine goalscorer in the summer, but his fitness record shows that he is just unreliable, and Newcastle cannot afford to have injury-prone players if they are to compete at the highest level.

If they can obtain roughly £15 million for his services, there’s a fair probability he’ll leave, and given his present long-term injury, he may have already played his final game for the club.

Zirkzee is still young at 22 years old, despite having won a Champions League with Bayern, and he might be a suitable backup for Isak, who has also struggled with injuries at Newcastle.

With nine goals and four assists in Serie A this season, the Dutch striker is having the greatest season of his short career, and Newcastle may want to take advantage before his transfer value rises further.
