Breaking News: Newcastle United handed major injury boost

Newcastle United has been able to welcome back players in recent weeks.

Indeed, Newcastle’s injury crisis this season has hardly subsided and has even piqued the interest of other managers, including Jurgen Klopp.

It is unclear whether it is the sole cause of the team’s struggles this season, but Eddie Howe is apparently pointing to it as a contributing factor behind the scenes.

However, things have improved recently. Harvey Barnes has returned to action, and Elliot Anderson can also take part in the events.

Howe also mentioned Joe Willock’s recent return, and, happily, Alexander Isak indicated he is progressively returning to full fitness.

Newcastle United - Magpies issue Joelinton injury update

Newcastle has received some more good news, with Nick Pope allegedly on his way.

Joelinton injury: Newcastle latest

This is because, according to The Daily Telegraph, Joelinton may return before the end of the season.

Earlier this year, there were fears that the 27-year-old would never play for the club again after undergoing potentially season-ending groin surgery, raising concerns about his long-term future after failing to agree on a new contract.

Still, this source says that the club will offer the player a new contract (his present one is slated to expire next summer), as well as that Joelinton’s rehabilitation is doing well and that he may return sooner than thought.

Joelinton: Huge boost for Newcastle

Having the Brazilian back would be a huge help for Howe and his team, which might yet qualify for the Europa League.

He is highly appreciated by the Newcastle manager and is possibly the best illustration of how Howe has improved the players he acquired from Steve Bruce.

Joelinton is one of Newcastle’s top five players in terms of tackles (1.9, according to WhoScored), interceptions (1.1), critical passes (1.1), and dribbles (1) per game. It is difficult to exaggerate his significance, both defensively and forward.

It will be amazing to see him again.
