Alabama Tackle JC Latham Talks Las Vegas Raiders

JC Latham, one of the top offensive tackles in the 2024 NFL Draft class, discussed the Las Vegas Raiders at the NFL Combine.
JC Latham of Alabama is one of the top offensive tackles in the 2024 NFL Draft class and might be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 13 next month.

“It would mean everything to be drafted by any team,” Latham said at the NFL Combine on Saturday. “I know a lot of the men over there, and I admire the organization. So I had a great experience talking with them and being with the coaching staff.

Latham knows defensive tackle Byron Young, who the Raiders selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

“He [Young] went to Alabama, obviously,” Latham remarked. “So I just enjoyed competing against him in practice. He’s a one-of-a-kind, powerful individual who has consistently improved me.

Latham was Alabama’s starting right tackle for the past two seasons. He helped the Crimson Tide win the SEC title and return to the College Football Playoff. He was selected to the 2023 All-SEC First Team, as well as the Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America, Sporting News, and Walter Camp All-America Second Teams.

Alabama's JC Latham listed as a Top 3 OT for 2023 per PFF

He has 41 knockdown blocks in 813 plays, an average of 3.2 per game. Latham earned an overall grade of 81.9 from Pro Football Focus for the 2023 season.

Drafting a top offensive lineman prospect like Latham would be extremely beneficial for Las Vegas, since offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor and veteran offensive tackle Brandon Parker will be eligible for free agency this offseason.

Latham also comes from a successful program, which makes him an excellent fit for a squad striving to rebuild its winning culture.

The NFL Draft will take place in Detroit, Michigan, on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders presently have the 13th overall pick.
