Southampton now very keen on signing ‘incredible’ midfielder

Southampton will require a productive transfer window this summer, regardless of whether they are successful in their efforts to gain promotion to the Premier League.

If they do win promotion, the Saints will undoubtedly need to strengthen their team in order to remain competitive in the top division.

However, if they remain at the bottom, they may need to strengthen in order to compete better the next season.

Indeed, they may need to replace key players who are plucked from Russell Martin’s squad if they are to stay in the Championship.

Southampton battle Premier League sides for midfielder signing

According to The Sun, Southampton are now looking to recruit Coventry City offensive midfielder Callum O’Hare during the summer transfer season.
The 25-year-old’s contract with his present club expires at the conclusion of the season. As a result, he could be available on a free transfer this summer.

Southampton are reported to be keen on bringing O’Hare to St Mary’s when he becomes available.

In January, he appeared to be a top priority for the Saints. At the time, however, O’Hare is believed to have been eager to see how things would pan out with the Sky Blues.

Coventry City, for their part, have offered the midfielder a new contract and are hopeful of keeping him.

This is despite the fact that the player has reportedly stated that he intends to leave in the summer.

However, Southampton are not alone in their pursuit of the Sky Blues’ star. Fulham and Everton of the Premier League have also been linked with O’Hare.

 

An excellent potential Saints signing

If Southampton could complete this transaction, it would be a fantastic business opportunity.

Since returning from injury in October, O’Hare has been in top form for Coventry City.

The 25-year-old has nine goals and four assists in 24 appearances in all competitions this season.

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has already described O’Hare as ‘outstanding’ this season.

As a result, if Southampton is successful in closing this transaction, they will get a highly valuable addition to their roster.

Indeed, the Premier League’s interest in O’Hare demonstrates how significant a coup it would be for the Saints to complete this transaction.

However, if Southampton want to recruit the midfielder, they will most likely need to win promotion this season.
