The Baltimore Ravens are anticipated to be active in free agency this offseason, particularly at running back.
Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins are both slated to enter the open market this month when free agency begins on March 13, and general manager Eric DeCosta will need to acquire some players, either through the draft or elsewhere.
At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this week, DeCosta and Ravens executives spoke with Notre Dame Fighting Irish back Audric Estime.
Estime set career highs with 1,483 yards and 18 touchdowns during his last season at Notre Dame, while also collecting 17 receptions for 147 yards.-
“That’s just a great opportunity,” Estime said during the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. “I had John [Harbaugh] in a room, and it’s simply an incredible chance.
“They think high of me.”
Estime said he thinks he’d fit well in with Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson.
“Lamar is a great player,” Estime said. “They’re a great team as a whole and I think I would be a very good fit and I would love to play for them.”
The projection by some draft experts is that Estime will be a fourth-round pick, and if that’s the case, the pick would be an example of a low-risk, high-reward selection.
The Ravens will need to add bodies at running back, and Estime – with his pass-catching prowess could be a good fit for Baltimore.
