AC Milan has been identified as one of the teams interested in signing Michael Kayode from Fiorentina during the summer transfer window.
According to a Fiorentina report, the full-back scored his first goal in Serie A against Lazio, prompting interest from elite teams such City, Arsenal, Milan, and Inter.it.
Kayode has been a revelation for La Viola this season under Vincenzo Italiano, securing a spot as the starting right-back despite only being 19 years old, and he now has international ambitions.
“The national team is a dream for me, and I hope to be called up as early as March, that’s my goal,” he stated, plainly indicating his desire to be part of Luciano Spalletti’s squad for this summer’s European Championships in Germany.
Spalletti’s Italy will go to the United States in March for friendlies against Venezuela and Ecuador. Kayode, who will turn twenty on July 10th, is also set to join the flight.
Milan’s interest in such a potential domestic talent is unsurprising, especially considering the uncertainty surrounding Alessandro Florenzi’s future and Filippo Terracciano’s role, while Davide Calabria appears to sustain a few injuries each season.
