Ravens Solve Wide Receiver Uncertainty by Signing Versatile Threat

The Baltimore Ravens had one of the league’s most potent offenses last season, making a strong bid for the Super Bowl before falling short in the AFC Championship game. However, retaining the majority of the roster is always a challenge, and the Ravens are no exception, especially with potential departures looming in the receiver room.

While Nelson Agholor has signed a one-year deal, the statuses of Odell Beckham Jr., Devin Duvernay, and Laquon Treadwell remain uncertain for the 2024 season. If all three don’t return, it would leave Lamar Jackson with a receiving corps consisting of Zay Flowers, Agholor, Rashod Bateman, and Tylan Wallace, excluding tight ends.

In PFF’s latest mock draft, Ravens GM Eric DeCosta addresses this potential shortfall by adding Florida State’s Keon Coleman to bolster Jackson’s arsenal. Standing at an impressive 6-4 and 210 pounds, Coleman brings a formidable presence to Todd Monken’s offense, offering a different dimension with his size that can challenge opposing defenses, especially in the red zone where he excelled with 11 touchdowns last season.

However, Coleman is more than just a big target. He possesses the speed and agility to generate yards after the catch, making him a versatile threat in various offensive schemes. Utilizing quick passes to get the ball to Coleman on the perimeter and allowing him to capitalize on open space could prove highly effective for the Ravens, providing them with a playmaker who can excel in one-on-one situations and contribute in all facets of the game.
