AC Milan has their eyes on Manchester United’s top defense
According to Spanish daily Fichajes, AC Milan is interested in signing Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof. His injuries don’t appear to be an issue for the Italian team.
Lindelof, 29, has missed 11 games this season because of a groin issue. Since his return during the second half of the season, the Swedish defender has appeared out of place.
Some rust is to be expected after so much time on the bench. Despite making 22 appearances this season, Lindelof has yet to contribute significantly for Manchester United.
His downturn in form and expiring contract could be just what Milan needs to seal the deal.
However, Fichajes has stated that Milan is not the only club interested in Lindelof. Many teams are wagering that the Swede will not be part of INEOS’s future plans at Old Trafford.
So, when the summer approaches, Manchester United’s new management is expected to move on from Lindelof. A transfer of the 29-year-old will allow the club to raise funds for a new defender.
The Red Devils are also anticipated to part ways with players such as Raphael Varane and Casemiro, so Lindelof will not be the only player to change jerseys next summer.
As their season begins to unravel, more and more players will be connected with a departure from the club. The Red Devils may blow up the team sooner rather than later.
