AC Milan intends to spend a certain amount on a new centre-forward this summer, according to a journalist, but this could alter if they make a major sale.
Luca Bianchin, a journalist for La Gazzetta dello Sport, spoke with MilanNews regarding Milan’s pursuit of a striker ahead of the summer transfer window, revealing that they plan to recruit a ‘young and strong No.9’.
He believes that ‘a cost of 40 million euros’ appears reasonable, and he does not expect a player to arrive for €70 million. Joshua Zirkzee is ‘definitely in the front row’, and Benjamin Sesko is ‘also quite popular.
For Zirkzee, the chase is simple, given that Sesko is controlled by the Red Bull group (RB Leipzig), which is difficult to negotiate with. The Zirkzee scenario is likewise intricate, but the Dutchman is the focus.
Then, certain things ‘depend on variables that we cannot control’. For example, if Milan sold Rafael Leao for his release clause, they would have €170 million to purchase another player, or even several different players.
“Perhaps there are more profiles we don’t know about, such as Gyokeres, Gimenez, or others, who are highly regarded. However, referring to Zirkzee and Sesko as two big aims is entirely correct,” Bianchin remarked.
