According to reports, Newcastle United have contacted the representatives of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
According to HITC’s Graeme Bailey, the Toon are one of several clubs interested in the Frenchman, who is out of contract this summer, with Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool also considering a move for the Nations League winner.
According to Bailey, Newcastle has “had contact with the midfielder’s representatives in recent months,” and this is not the first time the club has been connected with a move.
Newcastle has suffered in midfield this season, with the suspension of Sandro Tonali and long-term injuries to Joe Willock, Joelinton, and Elliot Anderson leaving the club short of reinforcements at times.
Rabiot has four goals and three assists for Juventus this season, scoring in their most recent league game, a 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona.
Opta ranks him as a player with a similar playstyle to Joelinton, and with the Brazilian’s alleged contract impasse, the club is expected to preparing for a future without the fan favourite if contract negotiations fail.
