Official: Sunderland confirm the appointment of new first-team coach

Sunderland AFC is excited to introduce Anthony Hayes as the new First-Team Coach. Joining Interim Head Coach Mike Dodds, along with Michael Proctor and Alessandro Barcherini, Hayes will be part of the coaching staff until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Before his move to Sunderland, Hayes spent seven years at Charlton Athletic, starting in their academy in 2016 and eventually becoming the Under-21 Lead Coach by 2021. He later transitioned to the senior coaching staff and even took charge of the team for three games as a caretaker coach in late 2022.
