‘As ridiculous as it might sound’: Chris Sutton predicts who’ll win between Burnley and Arsenal tomorrow

Arsenal will look to make it two wins in a row against claret-and-blue opponents when they go to Burnley on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners will face the struggling Clarets at Turf Moor in the Premier League at 3 p.m.

Arsenal are ecstatic after cruising to a 6-0 victory over West Ham last week, preserving their perfect Premier League record in 2024.

Meanwhile, Burnley hasn’t won since before Christmas and fell to Liverpool last time out, despite drawing two of their last four games.

Chris Sutton predicts narrow Arsenal win over Burnley

On BBC Sport, Chris Sutton predicted a 2-1 victory for Arsenal vs Burnley.

The BBC Sport analyst believes the Gunners will face a “dangerous fixture” against the Clarets, who are fighting for Premier League survival.

“I am at Turf Moor for this one,” Sutton began. “And I don’t think it will be as simple for Arsenal as some may believe.

“As ridiculous as it sounds, I was quite impressed by Burnley’s performance in their defeat to Liverpool.

“They started well, were well-organized, and created opportunities, but they failed to capitalize on them.”

“In the end, they paid the price for a few individual blunders, which are amplified when they occur in a close game like that one.

“They cannot afford many more of those if they wish to remain in the Premier League.

“Mikel Arteta’s side has just beaten Liverpool and West Ham, so this may appear to be the simplest of their current run.

“But, after four consecutive victories, including Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, it remains a perilous fixture because Burnley is fighting for their existence.

“I do think Arsenal will win though.”

My Arsenal v Burnley prediction

Arsenal’s confidence is strong after winning their last four league games, and they’ll want to capitalize on their momentum to reclaim the Premier League top spot.

Meanwhile, Burnley is struggling, and although playing well against Liverpool, the quality gap between them and the Reds eventually became apparent.

Arsenal will be aware that the Clarets will be formidable opponents, but if they bring their A-game, they will have enough to win. I expect a 2-0 victory for Arsenal.
