Sander Berge warns Burnley that they must remain together if they want to continue in the Premier League.
The Clarets are now in 19th place, seven points from safety with only 14 games remaining.
While the prognosis appears dismal, Berge feels they are still in with a chance of avoiding relegation – but only under one condition.
“Spirit will be massive. “That’s everything,” he told Clarets+.
“We exhibit it every day. People only see us around 3pm on a Saturday but throughout the week we’re pushing every single day trying to get better and working on the process.
“It’s simple to say, but I’ve been in numerous dressing rooms and it’s unbelievable what’s going on here.
“We stand firm, stick together, and look at how we might better. I’m glad to be a part of a club that, week in and week out, has the determination to move forward and see what we can do better.
“In the end I believe things will click because we trust the process.”
Berge, speaking after last week’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool, added: “Coming out in that atmosphere was fantastic. These are the games you want to play.
“It was a performance to be proud of, but this must be the benchmark every week, regardless of who we play.
“This just demonstrates what we can do when we play to our strengths, with that extra flair. People displayed a certain amount of swagger in order to challenge others.
“However, we must also believe in ourselves. With that you can go a long way.”
