Stefano Pioli was honored yesterday afternoon at Milanello for attaining 100 league victories, and he stated that he is ‘not pleased’ with that achievement being the final one.
According to MilanNews, Giorgio Furlani presented Pioli with a medal, which is an unusual occurrence because medals are typically granted for 100 appearances, but the club wanted to honor his success.
During the ‘ceremony’ at Milanello, Furlani delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of the 100-win milestone with the Rossoneri and highlighting that he has now coached 220 games, putting him on par with Arrigo Sacchi.
Pioli complimented Furlani, the entire ownership and management team, and emphasized the players’ outstanding worth in attaining 100 victories due to their dedication and spirit.
“We are not satisfied, I hope to achieve another 100 wins,” he told reporters.
The 100th win came last month in a 3-2 triumph against Udinese, a game overshadowed by racial abuse directed at Mike Maignan.
Given the rumors about Pioli’s future and the possibility of him leaving at the end of the season, he has clearly stated his intention to stay for another 100 wins.
