Today will be a critical day for Samuel Chukwueze and the part he will play in tomorrow night’s Europa League play-off round first leg against Stade Rennes.
According to Calciomercato.com, Chukwueze hopes to have moved on from Nigeria’s defeat in the Africa Cup of Nations final against Ivory Coast, a game in which they led.
Chukwueze is eager to resume his journey with Milan, having not played since the opening game of January, and the right winger is due to return to Italy tomorrow to begin training under Stefano Pioli’s orders.
The winger is in good physical condition, and it is expected that he will be called up immediately for the game against Rennes at San Siro tomorrow night, which begins at 21:00 CET.
Milan can credit Chukwueze for their presence in the Europa League, since the Nigerian scored the winning goal against Newcastle, resulting in Milan’s qualification to the detriment of the English side.
Despite his outstanding fitness, Samu will start on the bench since Christian Pulisic will remain the starter on the right wing.
