AC Milan was heavily linked with a transfer for Arda Guler before he joined Real Madrid, but the intrigue has allegedly not died off.
According to Real Madrid Exclusivo (via Radio Rossonera), the major competition for Real Madrid in July came from Milan and Barcelona, who had scouted him mostly in his games for the Turkey national team, where he has showed tremendous potential.
Then, very unexpectedly, he went from Fenerbahce to Real Madrid, opting to work with Carlo Ancelotti rather than joining a team where he would be guaranteed playing time.
Since then, he’s had a string of poor luck, including an injury in his first training session (a meniscus condition that kept him out of the game for two months) and another shortly after that.
After recovering from the condition and becoming available in November, he sustained a third injury. However, since his comeback, the attacking midfielder has played just 89 minutes over three games.
Milan remains an admirer, and according to the Spanish source, they may launch another attack in the summer, capitalizing on the good relationship with Los Blancos – as seen in the Brahim Diaz discussions – and the competition he faces for game time in Spain.
