Newcastle United star refusing to sign new contract will be sold

Newcastle United struggled with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations in January, and they may continue to do so this summer.

Newcastle United may need to sell a big name in order to massively reinvest, prompting suspicion that one of Eddie Howe’s best players would go.

Bruno Guimaraes is now the top candidate. There has been a lot of chatter about him leaving St James’ Park at the conclusion of the season, but he seems to say on Saturday night that it is all just background noise and that he is content on Tyneside.

However, it is unclear what the future holds for his fellow Brazilian, Joelinton.

His contract is due to expire in 2025, and a stalemate in negotiations could force Newcastle to sell this summer.

Joelinton is ‘likely’ to be sold by Newcastle United

According to the Daily Mail, this is currently likely.

According to the Daily Mail, Joelinton will likely depart Newcastle United this summer owing to his current wage demands.

The 27-year-old has been in talks to extend his stay, but they have not yielded results. Understandably, the £40 million man wants a significant pay increase and to be recognized as one of the club’s most important players.

He surely is on the pitch, and Joelinton is currently out due to injury. His season could be over, and he might never play for the club again.

If this contract issue cannot be resolved, selling him makes financial sense. From a commercial standpoint, it would be disastrous to let him leave for free in 2025.

Newcastle must give him an acceptable offer this summer or find a buyer. Hopefully it’s the latter, as Joelinton is revered on Tyneside.

The Brazil international has’massively improved’ under Eddie Howe, and replacing him will be extremely costly.

According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth’s Philip Billing might be a substitute, but fans are unlikely to support such a transfer if Joelinton leaves.

Right now, the Daily Mail believes Joelinton will go. I hope that changes in the coming months.
