Anthony Gordon stunned Newcastle United fans on Saturday evening at 4:30 p.m., prior of the Magpies’ match against Nottingham Forest.
Eddie Howe had announced that the 22-year-old had not exercised all week and would not play at the City Ground due to an ankle injury sustained in the 4-4 draw against Luton Town.
Anthony Gordon departed St James’ Park on crutches that day, however reports later in the week suggested that his injury was not as serious as initially thought.
Gordon was deemed fit enough to start against Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle went on to win 3-2, moving up to eighth in the Premier League.
It was shocking to see the winger participating, and he has now sent a warning to Newcastle fans.
Anthony Gordon delighted to win on his 50th Newcastle appearance
Gordon used his official Instagram account to offer a message to supporters following the win over Nottingham Forest. Not only did Newcastle earn three points, but it was also his 50th appearance for the club.
He wrote: “+3 and my 50th appearance for this fantastic club.” “I look forward to many more.”
Many more milestones to come for Newcastle star
It was a joy to witness his active participation, and Gordon exhibited no indications of the recent injury he had suffered just a week prior.
His performance, though steady, was overshadowed by Bruno Guimaraes, who emerged as Newcastle’s standout player of the night with his two-goal performance.
Nonetheless, it marked a significant occasion for Gordon, who has now reached the milestone of 50 appearances for the Magpies since joining the club a year ago. He has already amassed considerable playing time for Newcastle United and is highly admired by their fans.
His inaugural year on Tyneside has been remarkable. Despite a sluggish start, he has evolved into one of Newcastle’s key and most captivating players, and the prospect of his next 50 games, and beyond, is immensely exciting. Anthony Gordon is poised for numerous future achievements in the black and white jersey, and this is just the beginning.
