Ravens Star Reacts after Lamar Jackson is Criticized for Winning MVP

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens were regarded as Super Bowl LVIII favorites.

With Lamar Jackson playing MVP-level football and the league’s best defense, the Ravens were obviously difficult to choose against.
However, the club imploded in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs and will enter the summer with some problems to answer.

Jackson was recently named MVP for the second time, but the honor isn’t helping the conversation about his playoff performances.

The quarterback is 2-5 in postseason play, and some question if he can lead a club to the Super Bowl.

However, his teammate Marlon Humphrey defended him during an interview on Robert Griffin III’s podcast.

“I’ve just heard how good Justin Herbert is,” Humphrey added. “Like, and he’s good. He’s legitimate…There are numerous of quarterbacks who have not won a Super Bowl who are talked about (better) yet are significantly worse than Lamar. It doesn’t make sense”.

Humphrey believes that the discourse around Jackson has shifted too far in the opposite direction, and he has a point because other quarterbacks do not face the same level of criticism as his quarterback.

Jackson has a reputation for playing more like a running back, but that is not the case; he has been one of the league’s top passers for years.

Winning a Super Bowl requires both talent and luck, which Baltimore lacked.

However, Jackson will need to win at the highest levels to prove his detractors wrong once and for all.
