Joe Montana, a former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, is one of the most well-known NFL players of all time.
Montana knows exactly what it takes to win a Vince Lombardi Trophy.
On Sunday, the 49ers will face the Kansas City Chiefs (another of Montana’s former clubs) in Super Bowl LVIII.
Prior to the big game, Montana recently said the following to the players in San Francisco’s locker room (via Yahoo Sports on Twitter).

“You just have to do what you’ve been doing all year. Try not to get caught up in the event. And as everybody tries to tell you, once you get out there, you’ll see it’s just another game.”
On Sunday, the 49ers’ sideline will feature a few players from their 2019 Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel, tight end George Kittle, linebacker Fred Warner, and defensive end Nick Bosa will all play in their second Super Bowl for San Francisco.
So Montana’s message appears to be aimed more at 49ers players who have yet to participate in a Super Bowl, such as quarterback Brock Purdy, left lineman Trent Williams, and running back Christian McCaffrey.
San Francisco has played in a number of major games during the last several seasons, but the Super Bowl is clearly a whole different animal, especially since there could be even more attention on this season’s contest owing to the presence of pop music sensation Taylor Swift in the stands.
Will the 49ers be able to overcome their fears and lead the team to its first Super Bowl victory since 1994?
