European club now want to sign Stefano Pioli as next manager

AC Milan will host Napoli at San Siro tonight, which might be an unusual circumstance considering that the away team has Stefano Pioli on their list to replace Walter Mazzarri, according to reports.

According to this morning’s issue of La Repubblica (via PianetaMilan), Pioli, who is under contract with Milan until June 30, 2025, could depart at the end of the season to pursue a new opportunity with another club.

Pioli is among the options being examined by Napoli owner and president Aurelio De Laurentiis to lead the club in 2024-25, given Mazzarri’s anticipated departure after his temporary period.

Yesterday afternoon at Milanello, at his news conference on the eve of the game, Pioli, who had previously said a few days ago that he was ‘bored’ by the rumors surrounding his future, gave little away: “The future is only the match that arrives.”

According to the article, Pioli is also aware of the media speculation about a possible separation from Milan, as well as the chatter about Antonio Conte, Thiago Motta, and Julen Lopetegui.

If he leaves Milan, a move to Napoli could be an excellent way for him to continue his career, according to La Repubblica.
