The Clarets come to Anfield off the back of a dramatic 2-2 draw with Fulham, when they rallied from two goals behind to earn a late point.
It leaves them 19th in the table and seven points from safety, a margin that might widen with Arsenal coming up following their encounter against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Hannes Delcroix could return from injury, while Charlie Taylor could potentially return to contention.
Jordan Beyer is still doubtful, and Luca Koleosho and Nathan Redmond have been away for some time.
With that in mind, here’s how we believe the Clarets might line up at Anfield:
1. GK – James Trafford
The England Under-21 international could well be in for a busy afternoon.
2. RB – Lorenz Assignon
The full-back enjoyed a strong debut but is likely to have his hands full against Liverpool’s potent frontline.
3. CB – Dara O’Shea
O’Shea will have to be at his best to keep the likes of Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota quiet.
4. CB – Maxime Esteve
After impressing off the bench against Fulham, the Frenchman is surely bound to get his first start.
5. LB – Vitinho
Vitinho is likely to fill in at left-back again unless one of Hannes Delcroix or Charlie Taylor is 100% fit.
6. CM – Josh Brownhill
The skipper will need to put in a big shift in the middle of the park if Burnley are to get something out of the game.
7. CM – Sander Berge
Berge can always come up with something special, but he’s likely to be needed in a defensive aspect this time round.
8. RW – Johann Gudmundsson
I’d be surprised if Vincent Kompany played Aaron Ramsey out wide for a second week running.
9. LW – Wilson Odobert
The winger could cause Trent Alexander-Arnold plenty of problems down the left flank.
10. ST – David Fofana
If he’s 100% fit, Fofana surely has to start after the impact he had off the bench last week.
11. ST – Lyle Foster
If Fofana does start, who gets dropped: Foster or Zeki Amdouni? Amdouni’s recent form has been mixed, so perhaps he could do with a rest. Photo: Gareth Copley
